Our Leaders
Jesus Christ is the true Head of Redeemer Bible Church, just as He is of every other true church. The human leaders of this church serve under Christ’s authority, particularly as it is expressed in his Word
Elders
Our church has appointed elders (pastors) who provide spiritual leadership for our church. These are men whose lives are examples for other Christians to follow, who are capable of teaching God’s Word, and who can be trusted to wisely and humbly lead the church based on their observed character. Though we see elder leadership as the Biblical model for the church, we also recognize full congregational participation as part of the Biblical model. The elders take the congregation into consideration when making their decisions and also seek affirmation of their decisions by the congregation on important matters.
Todd Davis
In 2009, God led Todd to begin Redeemer Bible Church as a church plant from Heritage Bible Church in Greer, South Carolina after he finished his PhD work in seminary. God drew Todd to Christ in salvation as a young child, having allowed him to hear the gospel from his earliest days in a Christian family with a father who is a pastor. Todd and his wife Carissa have been married since 2004, and God has blessed them with three children. Brode was born in August 2006, Raef was born in November 2009, and Genevieve was born in November 2011. The whole family loves being part of Redeemer and growing in their love for and knowledge of our Savior Jesus Christ. Todd's primary role at Redeemer is the public teaching and preaching of God's Word each week when the church gathers on Sunday mornings. He cherishes the privilege of teaching God's Word publicly through expositional preaching, and is also passionate about teaching privately in personal discipling relationships.
Matthew LaCava
God sovereignly and lovingly placed Matt in a Christian family, with a pastor as his father. Through this, The Spirit of God drew him to Christ, bringing him to repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ at a young age. He met his wife, Kate, in college, and they were married in 2007. God then led them both to pursue further education, and they completed graduate school not long afterwords. God was leading Matt towards church ministry at a young age, but led him specifically to church planting in Colorado while he and Kate were prayerfully considering where God would have them go after schooling. In May of 2010, the LaCavas moved to Brighton. God has graciously given Matt and Kate two sons: Judah, born in August of 2010, and Simon, born in March of 2012. Together, they love growing as a family in the RBC body. Matt aids the Redeemer family in magnifying God for who He is and what He has done through leading corporate worship, facilitates one of the fellowship groups, and partners with Todd and Ryan in the private teaching and public preaching of God's Word.
Ryan Fisher
By God's grace, Ryan grew up in a loving, Christian home where he heard the good news of Jesus Christ as a child, came to know him as Savior at a young age. During his high school and college years, God impressed upon Ryan's heart to one day go and assist a small church or church plant. After marrying his high-school sweetheart, Danielle, in 2006, God continued to direct them to be a part of the church plant that Todd and Carissa Davis were planning to start. In accordance with God's leading, they moved to Colorado in the spring of 2009. Ryan works full-time in a public relations role for a marketing communications company based in Greenville, South Carolina. Ryan and Danielle are thankful for the birth of their first child, Lorelei, in May of 2012. Ryan loves the brothers and sisters of Redeemer Bible Church and enjoys using his ministry gifts in a variety of ways to guide fellow Christians to greater maturity through the teaching of God's Word both privately through one-on-one discipleship, and publicly.
Deacons
Our church has also appointed deacons, men of mature Christian character and good reputation whose role is to serve in various ways. The deacons provide leadership regarding the area of service, seeking to help the entire body be aware of ministry opportunities through the church.
Erik Frelund
Erik's parents became Christians when he was a child, but he did not trust in the gospel work of Jesus Christ and repent of his sin until the Holy Spirit worked in his heart when he was a teenager. God used a gospel preaching church in the Denver metro area to proclaim the truths of the gospel to him, and he was converted at that church when he was 17 years old. Erik later met his wife, Suzanne, and they were married in 2007. They now have 3 children: Leeah, born in 2008, Emily, born in 2010, and Morgan, born in October 2011. Erik has been a software engineer for 7 years, and currently works as a senior software engineer for a global healthcare solutions company based in Atlanta, GA. Erik, Suzanne and the girls have loved being a part of Redeemer Bible Church since God led them here in 2010, and they have served in a variety of ways since then. Erik loves to play his guitar for the worship services, and provides leadership for all things technical at RBC. The Frelunds are looking forward to seeing God's power displayed in His gospel through Redeemer Bible Church, according to His will.
Paul Hurst
In God’s grace, Paul grew up in a Christian home and was saved at an early age. His father served at a small, local church and God used this time in Paul’s life to show him the importance of serving in the local church. While in high school, God placed in Paul’s heart a love for and a desire to teach. Paul graduated from college with a degree in elementary education in 2007. Soon after graduation Paul married his wife Tara, who is also an elementary school teacher. Both Paul and Tara taught in the public school system in Greenville, South Carolina until 2010 when they felt led by the Lord to move to Colorado to help with the ministry at Redeemer Bible Church. In July of 2010 they made the move, and now both Paul and Tara serve the body at RBC in many ways. God has allowed them to use their gifts, both in education in general and teaching children specifically, to help provide leadership in the children’s ministry. With their first child, Ellorie, born in February 2012, they look forward as a family to God’s continued provision as He grows them in the RBC family.
